Bird banding in the Caribbean

The Caribbean Bird Banding Network was established as part of our Caribbean Landbird Monitoring Program. Since 2022 we have held three international training workshops as well as three island localized trainings. We have developed a banding schema for banders in the Caribbean accompanied by datasets, a database, and are in the process of developing a protocol. The Caribbean Bird Banding working group meets monthly to continue developing this network for banders of the Caribbean. The BirdsCaribbean conference provides an excellent opportunity for biologists currently using bird banding as a research and monitoring tool throughout the Caribbean to discuss how we can continue moving forward with goals and objectives of the CBB.
