1945: the Hawker Siddeley Group purchased Victory Aircraft (Canada's largest aircraft manufacturer during WWII) from the Canadian government and created A.V. Roe Canada Ltd (Avro Canada), a wholly owned Canadian branch of its aircraft manufacturing subsidiary A.V. Roe and Co. (Avro).
1954: The company started operations in the former Victory plant in Malton, Ontario and was restructured into 2 aviation divisions - Avro Aircraft Ltd. and Orenda Engines Ltd.
1962: Avro Aircraft closed when the Hawker Siddeley Group dissolved A.V. Roe Canada into its new subsidiary Hawker Siddeley Canada.
