Perspectives on Assessment

All of us hold a certain view on assessment. Do the quiz to find out what is your more dominant view on assessment and how it influences your decisions about which assessment practices are most apt.

Perspectives On Assessment.Which perspective we hold depends on how we view the nature of reality, what can be known about it, and how we can go about acquiring knowledge, i.e., our epistemic paradigm. The paradigm we subscribe to shape how we view assessment. Awareness of different paradigms helps locate the issues and tensions (e.g., making rubrics less "subjective" with quantitative measures)

We must be able to function eclectically in all three paradigms. For the sake of clear thinking, however, we should not lose sight of the paradigm we are in, at any given moment.
