And we might start talking about gardening right now. I know Jennifer has been prepping different things. First of all, Jennifer, how's your seed experiment going?

Unknown Speaker 6:13

Oh, I'm getting I'm so happy I have 250 seeds planted

Speaker 1 6:22

250 folks. 250 seeds planted?

Unknown Speaker 6:27

Yeah, I will have some to give away for sure. I've got now today I've got like a million snapdragons up. Whoo. And I have butternut squash. And I have pumpkins for Jack O' Lanterns. And I have what else do I have? Four o'clock, which are just a nice, you know, flower that opened in the late afternoon, early evening. And I've got all kinds of rainbow chard up. Oh, what color is going to be

Speaker 1 6:58

Ryan Salter would love you for that. So from salt and coal. Oh, I

Unknown Speaker 7:02

know. I said, Yeah. I see what I can get in return. That's right. That's right. So that's what I've got going here. And I've got my big seedlings, or tree. I don't know what to call them there. I'm just hoping they turn out okay.

Speaker 1 7:20

Well, I'm sure I'm sure Yeah. Taking care of them. The sun is out. So yeah, in your process. How did you go about planting and starting your seedlings? How did you go about it, Jennifer?

Unknown Speaker 7:31

So I bought two of the Jiffy containers that are those little. I think they're like, I'm gonna make it up. I'm gonna say it's Pete, but I don't know what it is. It's those little cardboard sectional thingies and you put it in a black tray and then you put a clear dome over it and Jiffy puts it all together for you. So you don't really have to think about it. I just put Yeah, Jeff. He's the brand. You can get it at the box stores.

Speaker 1 8:01

Jiffy not the Jiffy. That's the cake the cornbread cake.

Unknown Speaker 8:07

No, not cornbread.

Speaker 1 8:10

Alright, folks, if you know some special cornbread this is we're talking jiffy. I know Jiffy does make some cornbread, but we are also talking seeds and how we plant them. If you're out there and you want to contribute if you started planting some seeds, let us know what you're planting. The phone number here is 248557 3300 You're listening to ask the neighbor, we ask questions here and get your responses. Jennifer has 250 seeds in the ground.

Unknown Speaker 8:40

No, no. No. In, in,

Speaker 1 8:44

indoors, indoors. In in soil and soil. And soil. Yeah. And using a jiffy seed divider. It sounds like different than the brand Jiffy for corn bread.

Unknown Speaker 8:56

No, some of them and then others I've got in old salad containers. You know the clear salad containers make great little greenhouse starters. Yes, yes, yes, yes. And then also, I've got a bunch of egg cartons, so the clear plastic ones again, which are a little more expensive, but I repurpose that plastic as a greenhouse. And then the regular old school cardboard ones are awesome for seed starting because you can just cut those little partitions up and pop them into the ground you don't have to disturb the roots at all because that cardboard from the egg carton will break down when the read the the how do I say the roots poker is wonderful.

Speaker 1 9:38

So uh, for some of our audience that might they maybe have never planted any seeds to start. What do you start with? What kind of soil do you put these little seeds in?

Unknown Speaker 9:51

I get a bag of organic potting soil. Again, you can get it at any garden center or big box store. Just get a bag of that and

Speaker 1 10:02

you know put it in soil nuts. Yeah. Okay.

Unknown Speaker 10:06

No, I just get regular potting soil. I don't get root starter I don't get any of that jazz I just they can't do it in potting soil. Too bad.

Speaker 1 10:16

You're hearing it here live folks ask the neighbor Jennifer's saying go straight potting soil. Tell us what you guys think I I'm not sure if I agree with you. I know that there's some seed starter stuff that makes the seeds just pop up faster. But, you know, maybe your tactic makes them a little tougher. You know, maybe your plants come out a little because the potting soil is dance a little bit dense compared to you know, the other seed starting material. I started some stuff. Fluffy, is it Fluffy, fluffy. Okay. Yeah. All right. Folks, if you're out there and you want to contribute to the conversation of some seeds that you may be planting, give us a call 248557 3300 You're listening to ask the neighbor. I'm your host Danko Sieracki. We're on 690 Am w NZK give us a ring. We're here to help. We've had quite quite a couple of weeks here, Jennifer, haven't we?

Unknown Speaker 11:18

We have lots of topics. Yeah, lots

Speaker 1 11:21

of topics. Um, I do want to shout out to kebab Island, located on 13 Mile Road just just west of Shaner right across the street from Rand dazzles. They are a excellent place if you're looking for chicken shawarma, different types of specials that they have. They have three chicken shawarma sandwiches for 10 bucks. That's really a great deal. And they're located on 13 Mile Road, just east just west of Shaner right across the street from man dazzles. Great place check them out when you can. We'll give you the phone number a little bit later for them as well. Thank you for tuning in everybody. Jennifer. So I'm your progress on your seeds is sounds like they're popping up.

Unknown Speaker 12:12

They are. This is my one of my favorite times of the year just knowing that we're about to be all outside all the time. Right. I was out poking around yesterday, you know, not moving my garden, the top layer of like wood chips and leaves and stuff, but just kind of poking it a little bit. And all my daffodils are up, and a bunch of tulips are up in my Peonies are showing signs of life. So it's happening. Wow,

Speaker 1 12:39

this is such a great time of year everybody here in Michigan. Yeah, we're blessed to have this weather right now. Actually, I think it's, we're warmer than normal. The sun is out. We can definitely go ahead and get you helped out.

Speaker 1 14:20

So Megan was from Michigan's handyman.com you can reach them at what phone number Megan?

Unknown Speaker 14:29

The phone number is 248506 4001 more

Speaker 1 14:34

time that didn't come through that clear?

Unknown Speaker 14:37

Yeah, it's 248506 or 1000.

Speaker 1 14:43

Okay, perfect. That's Michigan's handyman.com And um, you guys have multiple locations. And you serve many cities in this Metro.

Unknown Speaker 14:54

That we do we we like to say that we can service at least 113 cities throughout Metro Right, with a variety of projects ranging from roofing, gutters, siding, home improvements, remodels and more.

Speaker 1 15:08

So I'm Michigan's handyman isn't just for fixing light balls or doing something like that you guys actually do serious work as well.

Unknown Speaker 15:20

Absolutely, we are licensed and insured. So, with that we do have foremen that can handle a variety of projects.

Speaker 1 15:28

Yeah. And this time of year, I can imagine everybody's just like, chomping by the bit to just get something going here. I know, everybody has ideas. And you know, we've been cooped up for so long. Uh, let me ask you some questions. We've talked about gutters. We've talked about some other things. And I know you've been getting a lot of gutter calls. What about roofing calls? What's What's the roofs look like right now? For people?

Unknown Speaker 15:50

Yeah, so even more. So after the ice storm that we had, there was definitely a lot of calls coming in not only to have the ice dams removed from the roof, but also then the repairs that were needed because of the ice dams on the roof. So yeah, Roofing Repairs for right, you know, vary in shapes and sizes. You know, obviously, when looking to hire a roofer, you want to make sure that they are licensed and insured. And that they they seem to have the knowledge and experience to actually be able to manage the ladder get up on your type of roof. I know that some roofers do specialize and three story homes or different types of roofing material ranging from tile to slate, you know, typically, it's an asphalt shingle. But, yeah, it would really depend on the type of roof and the type of repair. Just make sure you're doing your homework and you're hiring the right type of contract.

Speaker 1 16:46

Well, I have a question on roofing specifically, my home, I noticed that there was multiple shingles that had come on my front yard after the the thaw of the snow, I noticed that there was multiple shingles and I looked at the top of my roof. And I could see where they had come off of. Does the does insurance cover that?

Unknown Speaker 17:11

So they could cover something like that? It depends on a few different things. Was the damage caused from storm or wind damage? Or is it due to the age of your roof? If it is from storm damage? If you know the amount of damage is more than what I would say your deductible would be with your insurance company, it could make sense to at least have that conversation and make that phone call. If it's due to the age of your roof. Unfortunately, a lot of insurance companies won't cover the damage. Or, you know, they would recommend just doing a whole replacement, depending on your insurance and the situation.

Speaker 1 17:50

That's a good question. I think I feel like there's a lot of folks out there thinking well do I given all the different storms that we've had this last winter, the wind, the rain, the snow, the ice? I feel like there's some insurance claims that might be made out there. And if there's anyone that has any questions right now, give us a call 248557 3300 We have Megan from Michigan's Handyman here to answer questions that you may have about any handyman questions, really, we're just kind of talking about roofing right now. Because I feel like breaking out here in the spring, we've got this opportunity to work on the exterior of our homes, and you know, the roof is a big deal to safeguard your home. I don't know, between the gutters and the roof that really protects your home.

Unknown Speaker 18:43

Absolutely. And even in regards to roofing too, I mean, you're better off catching those small repairs before it becomes a whole issue. And you know, roofing can actually, you know, it might be a number of hard to swallow at times thinking about doing the whole replacement. But some people can get repairs, once again, depending on the size of the roof from anywhere, you know, 350 to $400 You know, depending on what the repair is if materials needed the size of the home, but you know, that $400 or so could definitely save you a lot of time headache and future money. Just making sure that you're getting it repaired now versus later.

Speaker 1 19:21

Yeah, because the damage that could occur ongoing is you know interior damage can occur if you have water leakage and whatnot. So if there's anybody out there that has any questions about their roof or their handyman needs, give us a call 248557 3300 We've got Meghan here from Michigan's handyman, Michigan's handyman calm. They've been with us giving us advice. Since we've started we appreciate you guys. Megan, thank you so much for tuning in giving advice to our neighbors. We just want to let everybody know we have a cookbook of it. If anybody wants one of Bob Ellison's original cookbooks from ask your neighbor, give us a call here at 248557 3300. And you can give DJ chuck some information and we'll ship it out to you. So, thank you, everybody for tuning in. You're listening to 690 am WNZK I'm your host Danko. Souter. offski. I want to thank one mag.tv Work fly.com and bid front.com for supporting our show. We appreciate it. Also shout out to Spacelab Detroit. How are you guys hope everything is well. Also, thank you to Ceci Lincoln and Bank of an arbor for supporting our products. Very Ann Arbor, very Detroit, and very Chicago. Thank you, everyone, for tuning in. We're listening to Michigan's handyman.com Magennis here, Jennifer's here. Jennifer has been planting seeds. Now she's seeing some progress. But Jennifer, did you have any questions directly? Right now for Megan? Possibly?

Unknown Speaker 21:04

I do think okay, yeah, yeah. Okay. Take it off the rooftop. And this may be out of your purview. But I'm curious, I am looking at a property in one of the local neighborhoods, and it looks to me, like the home that is on the property might have to be lifted up. So kind of on jacks and have the foundation certainly evaluated if not outright reconstructed? Is that something your generals can take on? Or is that

Unknown Speaker 21:41

we we actually do have a foreman who would be able to help with that type of project. However, he is a little top, fortunately. But there are specific companies, whether it be ours or another one that deals specifically around foundation. Now, are you saying to kind of is it like a siding material with just the you know, two by four, four by four posts underneath? Or would it actually need that brick foundation lifted?

Unknown Speaker 22:15

So my you know, my extremely lay person evaluation is that the house needs to be jacked up. And it looks like it's sort of, it's got a flaw on, let's say, the right hand side, it looks like the foundation has collapsed, in my estimation. So I think the whole place needs to be lifted up. And then probably that foundation where it was would need to be trenched out and put to a, you know, a modern depth living not in mission for today's code. So if that's something you guys could do, I'm in no rush. I mean, I'd much rather give my business to you and just book it with you guys. But I do I would want to get an estimate. Is that possible? Or is your your Foreman so booked out that he can't even do an estimate, which is a great problem? Yeah,

Unknown Speaker 23:04

yeah, no, absolutely, we could certainly go ahead and work on scheduling that estimate. You know, after the show with ankle, if you wanted to call the office, we could take some additional information from you. And then we also recently invested in a software here in our office, that allows us to kind of gauge and measure homes where they are in just some of these different aspects. So if you're saying it's to the right of the house, we could possibly even measure it out. Just the general square footage and be able to give you a roundabout, just so you kind of had an idea what that cost would maybe be before Foreman came? Yeah. It's something to, you know, think about. We are doing our best to try to be, you know, COVID safe as possible as well. So when our foreman comes out, you know, me, I said everybody mask up and be safe.

Speaker 1 23:54

Yeah, good move. That's nice to know. I think a lot of folks out there might be hesitating on calling a handyman, throwing through this pandemic, but rest assured that Michigan's handyman calm can help you safely, which is great to know.

Unknown Speaker 24:11

Yeah, yeah. And another part to back to the roofing. A lot of times, Roof Repairs can be done without actually having to have face to face contact with roofers, we can give you a call as we're on our way out, we can do a repair, leave an invoice in the mailbox and then ask for the check email then. So as far as like seniors go, we're really doing our part to try to keep it as easy and contact free as possible. Just being respectful of everybody in this time.

Speaker 1 24:41

Now, that's nice that they could do that. Um, give us your phone number really quick Megan so people might want to give you write that down.

Unknown Speaker 24:49

Yeah, so we can be reached at area code 248-506-4000 Or as you've been mentioning, Michigan's and that's with an S candyman.com

Speaker 1 24:59

Perfect PR Everybody, give these guys a call great company two locations serving over 100 cities in the metro. Well done. I want to go back to the question that Jennifer had about the foundation. So just let's just like think about it for one second. I watched a house. This was actually in Hazel Park. I watched a house this man was actually it was a, a house on a crawl, I believe, originally, and he lifted it up. And then he dug out a basement and cinderblock the whole basement and then set the house back on the basement.

Unknown Speaker 25:42

Yeah, that is actually possible to do isn't. That's crazy. Yeah. It is crazy. It requires a lot of manpower. Yeah, obviously. But, you know, sometimes people their idea of renovation is adding in a basement and when you look at the cost of either going up or going down, sometimes it makes as much sense to go down as it would go up.

Speaker 1 26:09

That's so yeah.

Unknown Speaker 26:13

Yeah. It's definitely a pricey project to undertake. But you know, if the house is worth it to them, and if you know it's in structural shape, I don't see why it couldn't be possible.

Speaker 1 26:25

It's a good question. Folks. If you're out there and you have any questions about foundations or something structural like this, give us a call. We've got people that can answer those questions. We've got an audience here that knows a lot about things like this. So give us a ring at 248557 3300 We've got Meghan from Michigan's handyman.com Here we appreciate you calling in and sticking with us all throughout our show we're going to go to a little tune here and then we're going to come back

Unknown Speaker 27:25

yo the lights go down just begging you down there's not enough bonus day yes I'm not as strong as I used to be because the lights down

Speaker 1 30:59

All right. All right. Thank you DJ chub Ka. Yeah, those Fleetwood Mac with say you love me. All right. Good Choices DJ chub co rocking it out here at Ask the neighbor. Thank you for all the great tunes. We appreciate it. You're listening to ask the neighbor. I'm your host Danko. Souter. offski. Thank you for tuning in to 690 am WNZK with me, I've got Meghan from Michigan's handyman, Michigan's handyman.com. And I've got Jennifer on the line with me as well. Hello, ladies. What's happening? Hello. Hello. Hello. I think Jennifer might have another question for you, Megan, if you are have a minutes to hang on.

Unknown Speaker 31:42

Yeah, absolutely. I'm here to help serve, you know, Metro Detroit with answers.

Speaker 1 31:48

Excellent. Excellent. Jennifer's got lots of questions.

Unknown Speaker 31:52

I did. myself. I have two questions. Do you all do tree assessment and tree removal?

Unknown Speaker 32:03

We can do removal. Yes. assessments really should be done by an arborist who would specialize in trees to see if there was any diseases. And then, you know, if it was something that would need to be contained, they would have the right certifications, according to the EPA to make sure that if there were things it could be handled properly.

Unknown Speaker 32:26

Okay, perfect. And my guess is that you guys have a recommendation on an arborist.

Unknown Speaker 32:33

We do actually, that was one of a rather common question we get, you know, because, especially when it comes to trees, there's, there's just really so much that can go with it. And sometimes it could be something as small as you know, a squirrel had dug a hole towards the roots. And, you know, you just kind of got to eliminate the pest problem versus, you know, having an old tree that, you know, ultimately should just come down anyways.

Unknown Speaker 33:00

Yeah, and that's a little bit like me taking my car to the auto mechanic, like I don't know much about mechanics. So I'm always sort of putting my faith into the mechanic and saying, Okay, so that's what's wrong, and I have to pay you X amount of dollars. I find the same sort of mystery and fear around tree assessment, like, every spring. Yeah, I'm sure this happens to other callers of yours Danko. Like, all these folks come around and say, oh, you should cut that tree down. It looks, you know, damaged, it looks old. It was compromised. And I'm always like, it looks green. To me. It looks fine. Let's never tell.

Speaker 1 33:39

So Oh, no.

Unknown Speaker 33:41

Another thing. Go here, Jennifer to keep in consideration is where the trees located on your property. If it's located towards any sort of utility or power lines, you might actually want to call the utility company and let them know that be a problem area for there's Park. And then I know living in the city of Warren, which really have an art Fremont is actually owned by the city. So the city would be responsible for coming to remove it if it did become a problem. Or so I've been told no.

Speaker 1 34:13

No, not all. Do that. Right? Not all are some do.

Unknown Speaker 34:17

I'm not exactly sure. I know that. In my specific neighborhood. We have some very old trees that were a part of kind of charitable save the tree movement before I was in the home, but I know that our tree is guarded and taken care of by the city.

Speaker 1 34:37

That's great. I mean, that's neat. Yeah, it's important I think in a city that we're to remember our trees, how important they are to shade for animal life. All these different things. Some areas around the metro don't have that many trees. True and I don't know the density in Warren, but I feel like it might be a little bit better than Sterling Heights.

Unknown Speaker 35:08

Well, Warren is the third largest city in the state. So there are a lot of opportunities for trees to grow throughout some of the different watersheds and stuff that we have. I know, in our area, we do have a rather high deer population still interest, though, you know, it's kind of strange being in the city, but yet you still have nature available in your backyard. Yeah, we found this but yeah, there. There are plenty of areas that definitely lack, you know, the aged foliage, per se.

Speaker 1 35:39

Yes, yes, yes, yes. We encourage neighborhoods and neighbors to, you know, keep trees going. I think that's a big part of having a good neighborhood. You know, maintaining great trees and keeping them in good shape requires some attention. I think, from time to time, they just don't always grow perfectly, they might have some issues with their leaves. I know. I've got some trees on my property that they have, like a little black on the leaf. That looks like it might be a bit of bacteria or something. Yeah, so checking it out, calling Michigan's handyman can help they can refer an arborist for you. And you can give them a call that way and making sure your trees are in good order. Jennifer, did we get all those answer those questions answered for Michigan's handyman at the moment.

Unknown Speaker 36:40

I have one more Megan, if you can stand it, I've got I've got cabinets in my kitchen that were not made, at least I'm not aware that they were made by a major, you know, vendor KraftMaid or whatnot. And I've broken panel. And I'm curious if that's the kind of project, this would be a tiny project, but matching the stain and taking out that broken panel piece and repairing it? Is that something that is also within your wheelhouse?

Unknown Speaker 37:13

Yeah, so we do have a couple skilled craftsmen carpenters on our team that do that, that sort of custom cabinetry to be able to really, you know, kind of get it matched up. It would depend on the damage of the panel and the type of panel whether or not it would have to be repaired or you know, replaced. But, you know, there's definitely a series of tools materials available these days, that should hopefully be able to help get it, you know, back to where you want it.

Unknown Speaker 37:43

Great. Okay, good. That'll be part of my massive evaluation.

Unknown Speaker 37:50

You're more than welcome to call us in every year ready? Obviously, specialists do vary based on their specialties. Not you know, not every surgeon is a brain surgeon. But right, we like to say that we do have somebody for everybody. So we do have a couple, multi specialist carpenters per se, who can handle a variety of projects. However, when it comes to something like foundation work, it would be one specific person. Same thing with roofing it would be one specific person, obviously, the plumbers typically not the roofer at the same time. So yeah, we definitely should have somebody if not be able to recommend somebody if we don't.

Speaker 1 38:33

Excellent. I mean, you're

Unknown Speaker 38:35

great. I appreciate that. You've got so many people available, because I always get leery when it companies like oh, yeah, we can do all that. We'll send Suzy out. And I'm always like, oh, that's like you said, a brain surgeon or is it a

Speaker 1 38:49

regular shirt?

Unknown Speaker 38:50

You right? Yeah. Yeah. I'm glad you got all that expertise.

Speaker 1 38:55

It's been great. It's been great. Thank you, Megan, for calling in. Just let our folks know before you go one more time how they can get a hold of you. Yeah, so

Speaker 1 47:46

That's great. All right. So a birthday in the house. So is this a big birthday?

Unknown Speaker 47:53

Well, no, because of COVID it's kind of more intimate party. Yeah, like five people. That's why did a big bash. But you know, it's not gonna happen.

Speaker 1 48:07

Now. Is this a 16th? Birthday? Yeah, it was she's turning 16 Yeah. gratulations it's a huge birthday. And I know that you were out looking for a car and everything else for your daughter and everything. So how's that coming along?

Unknown Speaker 48:28

Well, I got the car. Oh, yeah. It's moving right along. Yeah. Moving right along.

Speaker 1 48:33

Oh, good. Good, good. Good. So she's gonna be happy. I bet you having a car at 16 Yeah, definitely. Well, I know Jennifer and myself. We have teenagers that are driving and it's kind of scary, but we do have to support them. If there's any folks out there that have any recommendations for insurance, where to buy a car, give us a call 248557 3300 I get to drive down eight mile every morning on the way to work here. Unknown Speaker 49:43

Yeah, I saw my head in the sand. I haven't even started to look but I need to do that. Because he's my son threatening to get his license

Speaker 1 49:52

threatening to get his license.

Unknown Speaker 49:56

Well, yeah, it's just a matter of getting motivated enough and getting the stars to lined to get them to actually go do it. But yeah, I suppose he will one of these days and other be ready for that?

Speaker 1 50:06

Well, what's interesting is I keep hearing that our kids today aren't that pumped up to drive as much as we may have been growing up. Is that is that the case?

Unknown Speaker 50:19

Yeah. Yeah, because they have Uber now. So they'll, they'll just hop in an Uber or their friend or have their parents transport them. You know, they have their own personal taxis like me, everywhere. They don't need that yet. But I'm tired.

Speaker 1 50:41

Oh, by the time you hit that 1516 year, Mark, I mean, you're Oh, yeah, I'm everywhere.

Unknown Speaker 50:46

Absolutely. Jen, how old is your son?

Unknown Speaker 50:50

My son is 16. And I am wondering, like I keep you know, every time I'm like, sweetie bear, let's go get your license. And let's go get a job. Because you're going to be paying for your shirts and your gas. You know, he looks at me like, I'm sure your kids look at you, Casey and say, Why would I? Why would I not just use the free taxi service? You just pointed out? Yeah, it's smart. It is smart. I mean, I'm always like harping, like, Why does every family have an SUV? If we could all just kind of have one per block? And I could just borrow it when I have to go get a bunch of wood or something? Right. I think that's I really think that's Henry's logic is like, why would I? Why do I need to pay this money? I don't he doesn't even want a car. I don't think it's really it's interesting that the perspectives and the sense of freedom has changed so much. And I also wonder if it doesn't have something to do with COVID. Like, where? Where are kids gonna go anyway?

Speaker 1 51:52

Right. There's no urgency to get places right at the moment. Yeah. Yeah. But I think it's such a deeper, deeper thing. You know, when you take the costs of everything, and you take the, you know, the, I don't have the investment of hours to get the license, and then a lot of a lot of, there's a lot of scare around driving. You know, it's interesting, and it wasn't like that for us. I think growing up, we were just like, look, we want to drive. We want to get our freedom, all that stuff. But now, it's not like that. It's a little different. If you've got a similar situation at your house, folks or grandchildren or what have you. Give us a call. Share your story. 248557 3300 We've been talking about roofing, we've been talking about our burring being an arborist some tree stuff. It's the time right this is the time

Unknown Speaker 1:07:05

Speaker 1 1:07:08

it looks it looks pretty big. I think you could do more than three, probably five. I mean, it's a nice sized meal. Arm, it's good to support our local you know, these are businesses, we're trying to support local businesses that are individual business owners that are not mega businesses. Because that money stays here, folks, it doesn't go outside to corporate headquarters, it stays right here in our local economy. And that's what our whole premises about ask the neighbor. We want to support local. We want to support locally grown things locally, local, small businesses, local nonprofits, through our entities are very Detroit and very Ann Arbor and very Chicago, we are spreading that message of productive nonprofits, people doing positive things and in our cities, and how we connect with our neighbors, especially during these times of pandemic times, and we're not able to connect with people. If you're looking for a cookbook, if you just want to talk and explain some questions you may have in your mind, give us a call at 248557 3300 You're listening to ask the neighbor, and thank you to kebab Island. And the phone number again is 586-751-7511 for kabob Island, they do take out great, great specials. You can give them a call. Now let's talk about this gardening experiment that you're up to Jennifer. Yeah, yeah, I know you were doing the lasagna gardening.

Unknown Speaker 1:09:05

Yep. So it's sort of an offshoot of that I was, you know, kind of refreshing online on my lasagna technique, which is far from rocket science, but I still wanted to kind of check it out. And again, just a quick primer at the layering of cardboard or multiple multiple sheets of newspaper works as well. And you wet that layer, you can put it directly on top of your lawn. And then what I do is I put down four to six inches of topsoil and then compost, a strata a layer of compost or manure and then wood chips on top of that. And then when you want to go in and plant your crop of seedlings, you just move the woodchips apart and pop your seedling in there. And then you really, you know, the the woodchips helped pulled the moisture in there. They start to break down the whole mess of it just starts to break down in water and sun and heat, the perfect environment for those little tender roots and those seedlings to thrive in there. So that's been my kind of go to method for decades. And then I've read about this new while it's not new. This is a incredibly old methodology. It's called Google, Google culture, culture, Google and Google, I think it's probably a German word. It's spelled H UGELKULTURT.

Speaker 1 1:10:42

You all go culture?

Unknown Speaker 1:10:45

Who will culture throw that into a search engine, you'll get a lot of information. But in a nutshell, it's just part of why I was asking Michigan's handyman about taking down trees because that's the base of method is taken logs, or you know, just pieces of wood and stuff that's fallen over the course of the winter. And that's the basis of the raised garden bed is using logs and sticks. Creating a mound with that, and then layering over that with topsoil and compost and grass cuttings and you know, leaves that have sort of broken down over the

Speaker 1 1:11:28

winter makes a lot of sense. Yeah,

Unknown Speaker 1:11:31

and so that wood inside acts like a sponge, right, it's gonna hold tons of moisture, and it's gonna start breaking down. And so it's just, I'm so excited about it. I'm going to build like a berm in my front yard. I because I've got a pretty flat topography on my property, it's kind of boring. So I like those. I like like raised flower beds that have different you know, different heights than them. So I'm gonna get some logs and kind of start horsing around with that this weekend.

Speaker 1 1:12:04

That's a great idea. Because you know, if you have a raised bed, normally you would be buying a material to make that raised bed or buying the actual bed itself. I know they have pre manufactured little beds that you can buy that people make and whatnot, but that's using new lumber. That's probably gonna cost you a few bucks. I don't know, you, you might use expensive in the US treated wood a lot of times, so it doesn't go bad. And I wonder if that's actually bad for the garden. If it's treated wood are you would you use a cedar wood?

Unknown Speaker 1:12:37

It's not great for you. I mean, I know that's an that's a constant debate in the garden groups. I'm in like, oh, no, don't use treated wood. And you wouldn't seek to use treated wood because you've got your vegetables grown right next to it. But I also am sort of a realist, and like in the grand scheme of things like Jiminy Cricket, so there's going to be something bad in your garden. So I don't get too worked up about pretreated word wood, but that's just me. But yeah, the hugel, it's hard word to say it's kind of fun. hugel culture, technically is like just all stuff from your yard or from your neighbors, like I've got a neighbor, kitty corner on my block who just took down a pine tree. And I don't know him that well, but that I'm going to go over there and knock on his door and see if I can, because he's got it all bundled up at the end of his driveway. So he's probably not going to care if I just take it but I figure I might as well introduce myself to him and tell him what I'm up to. And

Speaker 1 1:13:40

being a good neighbor,

Unknown Speaker 1:13:41

what he gardens. Maybe he's a gardener too. Maybe we can swap produce or something later on.

Speaker 1 1:13:47

It's a great idea. And you know, and here we are in this time of post, not post COVID. But we're you know, trying and all gardening has been an active thing people have been doing we've been cooking a lot. We've been staying close, we've been staying safe. And gardening is one of these hobbies that has really boomed during this time, I feel.

Unknown Speaker 1:14:11

Yeah. It's been sort of like bread baking was a huge, I'm sure some of your listeners noticed that. I remember last spring sort of when the fear had, you know, the fear and the reality of you need to stay home had taken hold and we've kind of made sporadic at best shopping trips. I remember all my grocery stores were out of yeast and I couldn't understand why. And I'm sort of a not an avid Baker, but kind of a closet Baker. Okay, and I couldn't bake because I couldn't find yeast anywhere. And I started reading about it and it was because everybody and their mother, like took a baking because we had time on our hands and you might as well practice being patient

Speaker 1 1:15:00

stocking up on all these different goods. I know a lot of people were panicking, stocking up on everything. When the pandemic started and people were, you know, we're able to get many products and sanitizer prices were through the roof. Yeah, what a what a year we've had, you know, a couple days ago, it was a one year anniversary of our first COVID case reported in Michigan, and it's been a heck of a year. But I want to thank everybody for tuning in and staying safe this whole time. And listening to w NZK. Listening to ask the neighbor listening to our shows very Detroit berry in Arbor, very Chicago. We appreciate our audience. We appreciate everybody tuning in. We love comments. We love calls. Give us a call at 248557 3300. We have a call right now, Jennifer and it's Laurie. Hi, Lori.

Unknown Speaker 1:15:56

How are you? Danko.

Speaker 1 1:15:57

Excellent. Thank you for calling in you. You are the owner of Bronco printing.

Unknown Speaker 1:16:02

I am we've owned Bronco printing since 1985. We're over here in Hazel Park

Speaker 1 1:16:07

1985. So

Unknown Speaker 1:16:09

that's 85 We've owned it, we had one other we bought it from a gentleman who actually opened the business in 1947.

Speaker 1 1:16:14

So printing has changed a lot over the years. I know people were printing and then they you know printing kind of how has the printing business been during the pandemic times?

Unknown Speaker 1:16:28

Well, being that we are a primary a special events printer, it's been a little bit tough. But we bounce back and we've done very well, you know, with our side businesses, has helped us keep float because during the pandemic and brilliant signs and, and floor graphics and different things like that, which we do, right. But we were we do a lot of corporate and automotive and automotive is always around because it's the Motor City. And we've done very well with that, too. We're not going anywhere. We've we've gotten through so much over the years. We're going to keep going. So one

Speaker 1 1:17:01

of the things so like if anybody needs signs printed, you would be a place that they could call.

Unknown Speaker 1:17:06

Absolutely we do signs we do car graphics, we do floor vinyl, we do the vinyl wraps, we do in addition to all the printing, we are a full fledge commercial printing company.

Speaker 1 1:17:18

See, and I don't think you know there's some real serious printing companies and you are one of them. That is local. And I think a lot of people now might go on the internet and find a printing company somewhere in who knows where and hope that the prints come to you.

Unknown Speaker 1:17:36

Exactly. You know, I think people are trying to support local now a lot more than they ever have. Absolutely. Our pricing. And our customer service, though speaks for itself. Our we have so many customers that have been with us not just for a year or two but 20 and 30 years, I still have customers with us that were with the original owner prior to us buying the company. Is that right? Our reputation speaks for itself. It really does. We're a mom and pop shop so to speak. Okay, family owned family run. And we're hands on.

Speaker 1 1:18:14

Yeah, and you're in a great location, great parking, if anybody wants to come in and stop in really friendly service. I was in there yesterday. You guys helped me out. With printing services. I appreciate that. Very much. How can someone maybe get a call? If they wanted a call for a quote? Would they just give you a call?

Unknown Speaker 1:18:33

They can give us a call our phone number is 248-544-1120

Speaker 1 1:18:38

Okay. 248-544-1111 20

Unknown Speaker 1:18:42

They can email us at any time at Bronco. printing@comcast.net we watch our emails 24/7

Speaker 1 1:18:51

That's beautiful. I know. I know. I got a quick response. Well,

Unknown Speaker 1:18:54

we're pretty good at responding we're pretty good. That's another Diggle we're very good at is we're on demand almost people don't wait for the projects here. We you know they set it in. We're kind of a last minute printer for a lot of people.

Speaker 1 1:19:10

Last minute printer that's, I mean, that's great to know, you know, especially since you know I don't own my own printer at all. So I don't print anything at my house. Because it's too it's too much of a pain. You know, I don't print that much right. And I got to go get print cartridges and now they don't have that printer, you know, and it's just been a mess. And I was a lot of

Unknown Speaker 1:19:32

people do email us Danko and asked us to print things off. We do that almost daily.

Speaker 1 1:19:36

Yeah, that's really great that you guys are that that available that ready? And that local. So if you guys you not only are you supporting the local community for all these years, and I can just imagine all the different things that you've done, but you have you have a connection with Bob Allison From in the day,

Unknown Speaker 1:20:02

back in the day, you're right Bob used to was a member of John W. Smith old timers club. And Walter Nye headed up four or five different fundraisers for that club. Every year, the club helps the needy helps the homeless in Detroit. So we tried different fundraisers. And Bob was a very much a big part of it. And actually a close personal friend with my husband, Walter.

Speaker 1 1:20:28

It's just so interesting, as I've been doing this show and meeting different folks locally and around the region here and so many so much feedback from people I meet, and how many lives that show touched. And we're honored to be in this time slot between nine and 11am. On WNZK, our show called Ask the neighbor where supplying different resources. And I think, you know, people need printing services, and especially if you're like, if you're for so many things now, like if you're doing even a family event or other types of events. And I'm excited about when things open up for you with the events, Laurie, because I can't even imagine the business that you lost because of no events over this year. Oh,

Unknown Speaker 1:21:20

you know what, we'll bounce back. We, we do so many different types of things. Danka. Like family reunions, many people have big family reunions in the summer. And we'll do everything from making them their T shirts, or some little programs or getting them some different tchotchkes that they use to give out to their family. We do a ton of weddings and save the dates and invitations, graduations, banners, signs, lots of banners we do especially at graduation, and for birthdays, and everything, you know, you get things quickly. There's quick turnaround, there's no waiting. It's nice that we have our own design people in house. So we do all the graphic design right here in house that helps you facilitate

Speaker 1 1:22:08

Well, I mean, for me like what we do, well, it's you love what I can see, I can feel the love because when I walked in there, I could tell like, you know, you guys care about your customers, and I care about doing a great job for them. I'm located on Dequindre between nine and 10 Mile Road. I'm sorry, between eight and nine mile, yes, between eight and nine mile and Hazel park on the west side of Dequindre. And the phone number is 248-544-1120.

Unknown Speaker 1:22:41

Exactly. You know what Jacob, if anybody mentioned so they heard this, we'd be happy to offer him a 10% discount.

Speaker 1 1:22:47

Oh, beautiful. You heard that? Yeah, that's beautiful Bronco printing. We'll be promoting that offer 10%. If you've heard it

Unknown Speaker 1:22:55

exactly mentioned that they heard it on your on your show on your talk show. We'd be happy to honor that.

Speaker 1 1:23:00

Oh, listen to this. This is making things happen, folks, because ask the neighbor is just that. You know, a lot of us are thinking about starting a small business. And part of that opening cost of a small business is printing. You need business cards a brochure to tell people what you're doing, and Bronco printing can help you with that.

Unknown Speaker 1:23:18

We would love to go thanks for your time. Yeah,

Speaker 1 1:23:22

I think Jennifer's got a question for you, Laurie, if you got a second. Yes, Jennifer. Laurie,

Unknown Speaker 1:23:27

I am super interested in the work you were doing with Bob. And some of that fundraising and community support work. So I wonder if Danko couldn't return the favor? And have you guys come on and talk about events as they come up as it as it becomes appropriate with you know, some of the relaxing as we're getting COVID under control and some of the fundraising opportunities I'm sure ask the neighbor would want to continue some of the ask your neighbor community support that you're talking about.

Unknown Speaker 1:24:02

We would love to our next fundraiser actually, for John W. Seville drivers is a bowling fundraiser. It's happening in April. We're still trying to lock things down to make sure that it's really going to happen because of the COVID. And all the restrictions going on. You know, so I can I could maybe get you in touch or get to fly over to Danko. Okay, and let you know about a little bit too.

Speaker 1 1:24:29

Well, there's always one. There's always a

Unknown Speaker 1:24:32

balance. It was a huge supporter. He was our emcee for many of these bullying fundraisers over the years. That's cool.

Speaker 1 1:24:38

That's cool. I would love to we are here to help, especially for good causes like that Laurie, and it's great that you guys have that connection, and can connect us with that we are more than happy to promote and tell or do whatever we need to do. And just the thought maybe lawn bowling would be an option if the indoor bowling

Unknown Speaker 1:25:00

Like today with the beautiful sunshine, blue skies and sunshine are getting warmer springs in the air.

Speaker 1 1:25:06

Some of you guys might know lawn bowling as bocce ball like exactly. I am the proud owner of a couple sets of bocce balls just so everybody.

Unknown Speaker 1:25:17

It's a great game. It's

Speaker 1 1:25:18

a great game. But it's important to have a smooth, smoother lawn that you're working on. I think you know, you're right, you're 100% right. My lot that I relied on is got some bumps and we had a we had a landscape around that is was talking about. And we had a caller earlier this week Laurie was telling us that they could come in with one of those big water rollers and level the ground for us and add some topsoil to it. And Michigan's handyman has been helping us all week. navigate those waters and you know, good fun. We're going from printing Bronco printing here we've got Laurie to lawn bowling on our show. The fundraiser again I'd like to mention it clearly so people might be able to log in and find information about it.

Unknown Speaker 1:26:15

I know the date for the fundraiser. Hang on one second getting a flyer brought to me Excellent. Excellent. It's I'm so sorry. I

Speaker 1 1:26:25

didn't know I just want to share it while we have you online Randy's for

am just foreseen an ask the neighbor. Team. Do you know Danko Yeah, we need an ask the neighbor bowling team. Oh, we need t shirts. For the team? Yes, yes. And? Yeah, I mean, let's set a fundraising goal. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage the community. Maybe people can't come out and bowl but let's, you know, not right now. But offline, maybe pull this together so people can contribute whether they can come and attend us or not. But the organization? I don't want to mispronounce it. I know she just said it. Yeah. I've been to fundraisers for the I think Capuchin, but I don't know if that's correct. Yeah. But those folks do a tremendous job supporting the community in in Detroit. And that's, I just think that's something that you might want to consider getting behind and supporting local businesses and like, we should get sponsorship. Oh, my, I'll stop. We can do this offline.

Speaker 1 1:29:15

Yeah, offline. But I did want to mention, anybody that mentions to Bronco printing that they heard it on, ask the neighbor, you're gonna get 10% off your printing, and they do a great job. Unknown Speaker 1:31:42

All day long they work so hard to the sun is going working on the highways and byways and wearing wearing a Ferrari you hear them on in their lives away. Speaker 1 1:33:27

All right, DJ Shub. Car. Thank you. Yes, that was Sam Cooke with chain game. Jennifer, what did you think of that tune?

Welcome to Ask the neighbor, folks. Jennifer's thinking about that response for a minute. No problem. Still thinking no problem. It's still thinking. Ask the neighbor.com is what you're listening to folks. We've got Jennifer on the line. We just played a Sam Cooke song. And it's a great day to be in Detroit. We're broadcasting from 690 am WNZK. I had a question for you, Jennifer. Yes. What recipes are you thinking of creating this weekend? Do you have anything on your mind or any questions for our callers to help us with today in the food

Unknown Speaker 1:34:28

to bully that I'm going to go pick up from kebab Island. I am also craving I think because of the change of season. I want to grill some salmon. Oh again. Yeah. And that's just so easy and so yummy. And I'm just going to use lemon and pepper and one of the other things I'd dug up in my you know, little burrowing around in my garden area is my herb garden is Looking in pretty good shape. So I found a ton of time creeping time doing really well underneath sort of my collapse, lavender and rosemary plants. I'm going to put a little time in with that salmon girl that up.

Speaker 1 1:35:17

Sounds that sounds good. Uh, you know, I remember you talking about a blueberry salmon recipe that I was wondering if you could share with our audience.

Unknown Speaker 1:35:34

It's a girlfriend of mine on the west side of the state and shout out to the west side, it'd be hard for me to it's gonna be hard for me to put it together. But she showed me a picture of it and it looked just kind of revolting, but

Speaker 1 1:35:49

at first for sure thinking blueberry and salmon. How's that gonna feel? And how's that gonna look? Jennifer is going to explain. Yeah, let's see, right. Yeah, I can't.

Unknown Speaker 1:35:58

I think I would remember if I made it. I think I was just looking at the picture and warming up to the concept of making it but I do know she doesn't on our grill do you need like a cast iron, you know, pan or something pretty. Something that can withstand the intense heat of a grill. And as I recall, it was a bed of blueberries and a salmon steak on top of that. And the blueberries cook down in that really intense heat and become almost like a sticky jelly. And that the salmon cooks and also the salmon stays really moist because the moisture in the blueberries is just kind of penetrated and permeating that that salmon so huh, I forgotten about that one. I might have to revisit that.

Speaker 1 1:36:46

I like the idea of it. I like the idea of fish with some kind of a fruity flavor to it. If there's someone out there that Oh, go ahead.

Unknown Speaker 1:36:59

I was just gonna say like if I were a black bear, which I'm not but if I were a black bear and can barbecue that's probably what I think about. Right exactly. Random weird thoughts for Ask the neighbor.

Speaker 1 1:37:15

Well, I mean, you hit it right on the money there. If you can throw in some honey. That would be the trifecta. Yeah, the bear you would be a walking bear. In one dish right there. We miss you Bob. Bob ran the show for many, many years. We've got a listeners that have been calling in all week, letting us know stories and whatnot, questions that they may have regarding things that they would ask the neighbor feel free to ask the neighbor here on the show, give us a call at 248557 3300 we We've been having a great week, great couple of weeks together here talking, getting excited about spring getting excited about what's happening next. Along the way, we've had Michigan's handyman.com called in multiple times, letting us know of all the different services, things to keep your mind on. As the spring develops, Jennifer's been sharing her gardening stories with us. And it's been fantastic. You're not your traditional gardener. Jennifer, are you?

Unknown Speaker 1:40:35

I don't know. I don't know what a traditional gardener is, I, I like to work with what I've got, versus spend money on stuff for sure. Right? Oh, maybe I'm a cheap gardener. But um, you know, I grew up as a little child, learning to garden and just spending hours gardening with my grandmother in New York. And so I just have such fond memories of it. And, like, easily one of my favorite scents in the world is the smell of tomato vines. And if any of your listeners are gardeners, I hope they can smell that smell right now. It's just like, Oh, I love it. Love that smell. So when you're like, you know, you've had a pinch the leaves that are coming up in the, in the, the of the plants, I mean, smell is magical,

Speaker 1 1:41:29

nothing like it. It's a good time to start planting start, check out the places where you can get these planting items, your greenhouses near you, we're going to be reaching out to some of these folks to call us as we start to rebuild the show, ask the neighbor, and this time slot between nine and 11. We've got so many resources, so many great people around us, helping us with this show and reminiscing about what this show was what this show can do. And even mentioning some of our guests were talking about how this was kind of like the original Google where you could call in and actually talk to somebody and get some answers and get some things done. Like we've been able to do, Jennifer, find resources, find printers find arborists, find roofing people find recipes that make our life better. We found a rice pudding recipe from one of our people here at the station that we shared as well. And we'll be sharing that on our website next week with some of the recipes that we got this week, which was cool. And you know, I love to cook, I love to garden. You know, I've been working. I remodeled my house in Hazel Park, and it was a full remodel. And so, you know, talking with different contractors through the years and working with different people. I've gained a lot of experience in understanding what it takes to maintain and redo a house. So if there's any questions out there 248557 3300 We're looking for people that can make foundations under houses, we've got a request for that, looking for some RF cues that could handle that. If you've got a recommendation for people that do foundations, and you'd like to share that with us. Give us a call at 248557 3300 We're always looking for lawn people if you know people that can help out with landscaping landscaping design, give us a call this is the time to prepare and oh prices are kind of up in a lot of different things. Have you noticed that Jennifer in your shopping as you're doing things are we seeing some higher prices for seeds or for some of the material that you're buying?

Unknown Speaker 1:44:01

No seeds are pretty see your pricing is pretty stable i i noticed price fluctuation and gas last night I made a mistake and accidentally so you're really going to know how cheap I am. i Well, this is not cheap. I paid 15 cents more a gallon than I should have some a little cross about that. Just poor planning and I would say food prices. You know, I don't know if depending on where I am in the city and metro area shopping if that's what causes the fluctuation in pricing. Or if it's availability or I mean, I guess it could be gas price because all of our food is shipped, you know it's trucked to the various stores. So maybe that's what's driving some prices up that I'm noticing. I don't know. Are you noticing that or is it just me

Speaker 1 1:44:59

I'm noticing Some price bumps in a lot of different places. I know we talked about construction costs being up like two by fours costing $5. Now compared to what they were before, is there anybody out there that might be experiencing the same things? Give us a call? 248557 3300. I know, I have personally, the gas prices are much higher. I feel like just right now, it seems like they're ramping up right when people are starting to do stuff. And I don't know the economics of the gas industry. But I know a chunk of that goes into taxes. Some of it may be goes into roads. If there's somebody out there that wants to share that story. On on that. I'd like to know more. We always like to know more. Give us a call anytime between Monday and Friday between nine and 11am at 248557 3300. Ask the neighbor, yeah, prices are up in different places. Jennifer, I feel like you know, there's just the feedback from people I think the the prices of some of the items for food are up. Like I was at Kroger and I saw that the ice cream prices were higher than normal. But, you know, that might just be a fluke. Sometimes they're on sale. Sometimes they're not but I don't know. But the milk prices are down. I saw milk at like $1.69 a gallon for the normal homogenized that Kroger which is really cheap. So I don't know what to think of what we're where we're at right now. I don't know. If there's some

Unknown Speaker 1:46:43

messages. Maybe the message is to stay away from ice cream. Danka. Did you ever think of that?

Speaker 1 1:46:48

Well, I don't know. That's a bad I mean, right now with everything happening that's like our only Savior is ice cream. You know, we need a little sweets. Something to put in us when we're feeling good and feeling relaxed. I don't know. I think ice cream is a is a good part of life. Not that we can do it all the time. But it is nice to have some good ice cream. And Kroger has it progra has it Meyer I'm sure has it. We've talked about also how to get vaccines on the show. I had great success. With my parents taking them to Myers for their vaccine, their first shot of their vaccine. We're going to have the second one on the 16th of March. But the Meijer in Warren took care of them really well. And if there's others out there that need a vaccine, checkout Meyer, I know that's one of the places you can go Jennifer, any other recommendations for vaccine stuff

Unknown Speaker 1:47:49

I know righted has got is one of the entities that is is also being allowed to deliver them. I got a call. I can't remember if I mentioned this on the show already or not. But last week, I got a call from Oakland health. Acknowledging that I had, you know, indicated my interest in getting the vaccines as soon as possible. So I really appreciated getting, you know, an acknowledgement from an official entity that they know that I want it and that I'm standing by it to go get this as soon as I can, I cannot wait to join those of us who've already been able to be vaccinated against this, not only to protect myself, but to protect the community at large. I just want to know that I can go out and not accidentally be carrying the virus. And know that i i am less likely to get it myself. I really look forward to that.

Speaker 1 1:48:55

Yeah, we are, you know, in this situation. And I think by having a radio station that you can listen to, and discuss these matters. Ask some questions, ask the neighbor things that we might not have been able to do during these pandemic times. This is what our shows about a resource center that you can call in offering resources in different places, online, through our social media through our other shows where we're connecting the community. You know things about our house that we need to know where to get certain products. These are things that we discussed on the show, ask the neighbor and sharing really is the biggest part of what we do. We share recipes. We share stories. We talk about fundraising events that are positive for the community. If you want to connect with us and be our sponsor and support us and for us to promote you. Give us a call at 248557 3300 Always look to support local businesses that are doing positive work in our community. So if you're one of those businesses, we'd love to hear from you. I know one of those businesses and I want to shout out to Max's deli on 15. And Brian, they do a great job offering all kinds of Eastern European products and more different federal cheeses, different types of baked goods, even budak. Check them out Max's deli on 15. And Ryan, shout out to you guys always supplying fresh fruits and vegetables as well. In the local area. All right, um, we've got a caller right now we've got Ike angle bomb. He wants to talk about gas prices, Ike Hello.

Unknown Speaker 1:50:45

Yes, sir. You got my last name? Correct. I'm proud.

Speaker 1 1:50:49

Well, it took a couple days, but we got it.

Unknown Speaker 1:50:54

Hey, listen, I understand. I was just gonna comment about the gas prices that I heard an interesting guru, so to speak, talking about it, the reason prices are going up is because of course, Biden's you know, environmental thing and cutting back, and fracking and in any other form of homegrown ways. So the company's anticipating that they're going to be hit pretty hard. Soon, while they have a chance, they're raising the prices so they can get as much money now, because they know they're gonna be really very limited in their profits. The longer the administration pursues, cutting back and what we had been doing,

Speaker 1 1:51:56

we'll see that that doesn't make sense to me as an economist. And I think Jennifer will support me in that is that alright, so we have now more gas than we've had because people aren't driving, yet. The price is higher. When there's demand there should be the price should be lower.

Unknown Speaker 1:52:17

It should be but if you're in business, and I'm just the messenger. Okay. Okay, we're

Speaker 1 1:52:30

not shooting. We're just talking.

Unknown Speaker 1:52:35

Right. And my other search was, if people want to, well, they can shop around. Yes. body.com. Okay, the three service that gives you the best prices in the area. And there might be a good way. As you get to the half tank,

Speaker 1 1:53:00

yeah. When do you feel up? I get the half tank mark. What's that one? Do you feel your tank it at the half tank mark? Or?

Unknown Speaker 1:53:12

No? No, I'll tell you a Costco still is the best deal for me. All right. All right.

Speaker 1 1:53:17

Jennifer, are you are you a Costco user? I mean, I'm hearing that I got as good luck at Costco.

Unknown Speaker 1:53:28

No, I have in the past been a Costco member. And I'm absolutely gonna re up my membership. If only because they Costco pays a living wage, I think they pay $15 an hour to their entire organization. And obviously more for you know, folks that have been there a long time. But that's something that I definitely want to support. And I forgot about the gas. That's a great, great added benefit is that the bolt find that they're able to do and they transfer that savings on to us. Right. So that's a good point.

Speaker 1 1:54:06

Well, I CNOs prices, i know that i x i get a pulse on the prices of everything. Right?

Unknown Speaker 1:54:14

Right. Hey, that's gonna be my take on the pulse. Thanks for the time.

Speaker 1 1:54:22

Thank you for calling in. I can go by right. I can go bomb. So he's got a entrepreneurial network show on Wednesdays here. And it's been a great show, guys. So we have been on air for two hours. Thank you, Jennifer, for all the great questions and commentary today. And all the great ideas for engaging with our environment, being a part of our garden, finding different prices of all kinds of different commodity goods. Don't forget to give us a call if you need a cookbook. 248557 3300 We're offering free Bob Ellis cookbooks, to remember Bob Ellison show, ask your neighbor, we're gonna really kind of just finish up here. This is the end of our show, I want to thank one mag.tv A place where you can go to access digital magazines. I want you to visit workflow COMM A place where you can put in service requests. And if you have a mobile service request, you can put that in there. And don't forget, if you're looking for non committal offers on your property, go to bid front calm away to get that done. Jennifer, this is Friday, March 12. Any last comment before we go

Speaker 1 1:56:18

Thank you Laurie from Bronco printing check them out and give them a call 52485441120 Thank you to everybody and have a great weekend.

Don't know we can
