By default every hour is Hard Disk Automation with an assigned blank clock.
MANUAL HOUR
The software assumes that:
An operator is present & active in the studio.
Hot Keys are being used.
The play list is being manually created by operator for play back.
The operator is starting & stopping the Play List manually.
This hour type will:
Allow dead air, assuming that the operator is on air in some other way, such as live from the console.
ALWAYS start at the 1st event in the scheduled playlist when Start Automation button is pressed.
LIVE ASSIST HOUR
The software assumes:
An operator is present and active in the studio.
That the operator is choosing the program material and the play list automation system is only being used for pre-scheduled 'Live Assist' Stop sets (commerical breaks).
The schedule is broken up with 'BREAK' events.
The program will sit at the break event waiting for the operator to trigger the 'NEXT' event to play.
This hour type will:
When started mid-hour, it will find the event with the CLOSEST START TIME to the current time (referring to the last event played history also).
The auto-fill function at the end of the hour and during the hour will NOT function.
AUTOMATION HOUR
Designed for unattended operation.
Automatically fill dead air based on Play List Clock.
Ignores break events such as FBREAK or live assist BREAK events.
Support TIMED and TBREAK events but WILL fill dead air before these events if necessary.
Started mid-hour, it will find the event with the closest start time (referring to the last event played history also). If automation is started :15 past the hour, it will go to the point in the schedule that is :15 past the hour.
Auto-fill any file that is out of kill date, or does not exist. It will look for a Type A audio file within 10% of missing file length first. If nothing meets that criteria, it will choose at random.
SATELLITE HOURS
The system is being fed audio from an external audio source wired to the Switcher hardware.
Setup with a switcher source channel (1-16) and a jock number (1-40),
Uses 'FBREAK' floating break events which are triggered by relay closures to start Spot Sets (commercial breaks).
When started mid-hour, it will find the event with the closest start time.
Satellite hours for the Air Schedule is a little different than other types. It requires you to choose the Source Channel & Jock #.
SOURCE CH
Selecting which Audio Source Channel to use for the hour.
Source Channels are found on the Switcher Hardware.
There are 16 channels to choose from.
You may need to consult with the engineer that wired the Bridge for which source channels correlate to which satellite receiver.
JOCK #
Select Jock folders that will play when liner closures are received for that particular hour.
If you go to the C:\DHD\Liners folder, you will find 40 subsets of Liners. For example, Jock3ID, Jock3Liner1, Jock3Liner2, Jock3Liner3 & Jock3Liner4.
This feature allows you to have custom sets of liners for your satellite shows. For example, you may have a set of Glenn Beck liners that say “You're listening to Glenn Beck on KROC.” If your Glenn Beck liners & ID are placed in the Jock3 subset of folders, then you will schedule in the Air Schedule Jock# 03 for the hours Glenn Beck is scheduled to play.
