Display Information at the top
The Timed Record window has a lot of useful information at the top.
VU Meters (top left) - the meters on the top left of the screen are for the source channel that is currently selected for the Select Source pull down. This is useful to check audio levels for the source channel prior to recording.
VU Meters (center) - these meters display the audio levels for the file that is currently being recorded.
Timed Start - this shows a countdown timer for the next recording. This will occur moments before the recording is about to start.
Time of Day - this is the current PC time. To change this time, go to the Windows OS Control Panel to adjust the time.
Recording Sound Card - on the top right of the screen, it will display the sound card that the Timed Recorder is set to record. The example on the right displays USB AUDIO CODEC.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
TRIGGER - this option gives you the ability to choose how to start the recording. These options are:
Timed (T) - this option will start the recording at a specified time.
Closure (C) - this option allows the recording to start via a closure on the switcher hardware.
(T) w Audio - this option is a hybrid of being Timed and will listen for audio. For example, if a recording is set to start at 7pm, it will start listening for audio at 7pm, and will start the recording once a dB level has been reached. This dB level can be adjusted on the top left of the Timed Recorder screen. The default is 30dB. This option is very powerful, as it won't re-record over old recordings for if you lose your audio feed. It will play the previous recording.
(C) w Audio - this option is a hybrid of being tiggered by closure, but will also listen for audio. For example, when a closure is received to trigger the recording, it will listen for audio and start the recording when the dB level is reached. The default is 30dB. This option is very powerful, as it won't re-record over old recordings for if you lose your audio feed. It will play the previous recording.
RECORDING & SCHEDULING - you may create a Timed Record schedule, and have the file already scheduled to play in Tools prior to the file actually being recorded. It will look for the cart number for scheduling. Once a file has been recorded, the recording will automatically update when a recording with the same cart number records again. This is useful for recurring recordings are scheduled.
SINGLE RECORD ONLY - the Timed Recorder can only record one source channel at a time.
WILL NOT PLAY WHILE RECORDING - the file that is being recorded cannot play while it is being recorded. It will need to finish before it can play.
