Day 8

Saturday the 1st of July

Tänään vierailimme luterilaisuuden kehdossa. Reittimme kulki halki kumpuilevan maaston pitkin Saksin osavaltiota. Näimme järkyttävän huonoja pyöräteitä, viime viikon myrsky oli vienyt monessa kohtaa hiekan tieltä mennessään ja jäljellä oli vain kivikkoa.

Today we visited the cradle of the Lutherianism. The route went through the hills and fields of Saxony and we drove also horrible bike paths where the last weeks storm had shown its power.

Osuimme välillä myös kauniille vanhoille teille, joita kirsikkapuut reunustivat. Nämä puut olivat niin vanhoja, että varmasti I. K. Inhakin oli matkallaan samoista puista kirsikoita maistellut. Hyvin ne maistuivat meillekin.

We drove also some nice paths with cherry trees beside them. These are sure the same trees Mr Inha writes about in his travel book.

Tänään olimme ensi kertaa sen verran keskellä ei mitään, että päätin kokeilla uutta droneani. Ei hassumpaa lainkaan. Lisää videoita on tulossa.

Today I tried the first time the small drone I have with me. In the middle of nowhere we stopped and I made my first test flights. The result is not bad at all! More drone videos will come.

Lounaspaikkamme oli tällä kertaa tavallista hienompi. Hotelli Graf von Mansfeldissa söimme herkullisen tummaolutgulaschin knödeleillä. Hinta oli pienen oluen kanssa muistaakseni 11€.

Our lunch stop was a little bit fancier than usually. We had a good Dunkelbiergulash with Knödeln in the Hotel Graf von Mansfeld.

Tämän päivän tavoitteemme oli Halle an der Saale, jonne matkaa oli 82 km. Huone oli perusmukava, mutta ympäristö kyllä niin entistä DDR:ää kuin olla voi. Jäimme siis illaksi hotellille ja pääsin kirjoittamaan tätä tavallista aikaisemmin.

Our goal today after 82 km was the city of Halle an der Saale. Our room today is cosy, but the surrounding is quite unpleasant old GDR, so we stay at the hotel and I can update this blog earlier than usual.

Huomenna meillä on edessä vain 35 km:n ajo Leipzigiin, jossa pidämme yhden välipäivän.

Tomorrow we have only about 35 km to Leipzig where we will stay for two nights.
