The following resources are to help teachers during this pandemic. These resources can also improve classroom teaching and improve use of multimedia to drive instruction.

This article provides wonderful opportunity ideas for improving the move to online learning.

Flipgrid enables students to teachers to interact with students. Students can submit videos in response to discussion points or assignments.

Many students do not complete assigned assigned readings. Perusall enables teachers to upload material for students to read. Students then write comments (annotations to each other) on the material. Research supports effectiveness of tool.

This Edutopia article recommends teachers take time to call students to build that relationship and address personal issues.

This video includes ads but offers information on how to use Pear Deck to increase student participation in learning. Pear Deck offers teachers the opportunity to put interactive content in Microsoft PowerPoint or Google Slides. People can sign up for free trial using premium features and continue with free basic use.

Nearpod is offered of a free trial, but then includes a subscription. Nearpod allows instructors to develop interactive videos and offers a wide array of preloaded lessons by subject area and grade level. The lessons can be purchased individually or by subscription. The platform allows you to monitor student work. They talk about using it live remotely as class, or students could use independently, or you could use in front of an in-person class.
