Freedom Schools

Freedom Schools in Montgomery County are funded through the United Way and based upon the successful Children's Defense Fund model. The model's focus is on preventing summer learning loss, building a love of literacy, and promoting civic engagement through service. Omega CDC and many other local organizations use the Freedom School model.

You can explore resources here, including a video from Camp HOPE, operated by Omega CDC, through their 21st Century program. In 2020 during the pandemic, Omega put their program online for the first time.
