Resources for Read-Along

These read-along videos could be used by teachers to facilitate learning remotely or in the classroom. Either face-to-face or online, the teacher could introduce the story. You could stop the video and ask questions. The video could be used by families as well. More videos will be added by the host sites, particularly in response to the COVID 19 pandemic.

Teachers could embed these YouTube links in Google Classroom Platform, other forum, or share on your screen in a Zoom call. The PBS read-along videos contain multiple books being read-aloud. If this proposes problems, we could edit and split these videos.

The books in the videos are read by authors, political figures, and actors. Some of the books include activities, questions to ask, discussions, etc .

Story Line Online books are read by actors from SAG-AFTRA Foundation. Each one includes activity guides

This is a project with Penguin Books publisher. The sites does have ads, but contains great read-along books.

The Sankofa site includes books, many multi-cultural. This site does have ads.
