American had 58 767s by April 8, 2015, when a Single Operating Certificate was awarded by the FAA and US Airways merged into American. In December 2018, AA announced it had a buyer for its remaining 767s and planned to have them exit the fleet over the next 3 years. However due to the Covid-19 pandemic the 767 fleet retirement was accelerated, and by March 2020 they all were parked permanently.
