On October 19, 2023 American Airlines announced it would add 10 ex Alaska Airlines Airbus A321neo aircraft into the fleet.  These aircraft will arrive in the first half of 2024 and remain in the Alaska Airlines configuration (16F 24MCE 150MC) until after summer 2024.  These aircraft do not have the cabin flex layout and will not be ETOPS like the other A321NXs in Americans fleet.
