In 2021 American Eagle announced it was adding 22 E170s to the fleet. 6 ex BA CityFlyer aircraft going to Envoy and 16 E170s operated by Republic. Since then, Envoy has been acquiring more E170s from AeroMexico, Republic, and other airlines.

The E170s are outfitted in a 65-seat arrangement, with 12 seats in first class, 20 Main Cabin Extra and 33 in Main Cabin. First class will be arranged in a 1-2 configuration, and economy will be in a 2-2 layout. The planes will feature Wi-Fi and in-seat power outlets.
