Haese MYP 2 Mathematics - Chapter 15A - 15D, page 297
You will use these skills in presentations, statistical research, marketing projections and company forecasts
You will be able to:
Identify where the x and y coordinates are in the general equation of a line
Familiarise with the general equation of a line
Draw a graph from an equation and vice versa using a table of values
Key Vocabulary:
coordinate, cartesian plane, slope, x and y intercept, gradient
Notes:
Every x value corresponds to a y value along the line
The x intercept of a line is the x coordinate at the point where the line crosses the x axis (y = 0)
Points join together to make a straight line
Choose two points for x value and y values that are even and easy to read on the graph to find the gradient
Textbook Questions: Chapter 15A - 15D (all questions)
Think of some x and y coordinates (at least 5) and then draw a cartesian plane then plot the points
