Siti Hatijah Mortan is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Chemical & Natural Resources Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and a member of Bioprocess Engineering Cluster (BEC1).
She received her Bachelor in Biotechnology-Biochemical Engineering from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 2007 and later obtained her Master of Science (Biochemical Engineering) from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2010. After that, she joined Faculty of Chemical & Natural Resources Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) as a lecturer in 2010. She completed her PhD in Environmental Science and Technology at Institut de Ciència i Tecnologia Ambientals (ICTA), Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB) Spain in 2017. She also has research work experience at Sime Darby Research Sdn Bhd and Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ), Germany.
While she has taught various chemical engineering subjects, she is still devoted to research and consultation in the bioprocess engineering field. Her research interests are in environmental biotechnology, bioremediation of hazardous materials and enzyme technology.
