About myself:
I am Nasratun Masngut and my acronym in publication is (N. Masngut). I am a lecturer at Faculty of Chemical & Natural Resources Engineering (FKKSA) and at the same time responsible as a Deputy Director at Centre for Academic Innovation and Competitiveness (CAIC), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP). I received my Bachelor in Chemical Engineering (Biochemical) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and later enrolled for a Master’s programme at the same university. While waiting for the completion of my master study, I joined Kolej Universiti Kejuruteraan & Teknologi Malaysia (now Universiti Malaysia Pahang) in 2006 as a tutor. I completed my Master of Science (Chemical Engineering) in 2007. In 2013, I obtained my PhD degree in Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials from Newcastle University, UK.
While I have taught various chemical engineering courses including Thermodynamics, Materials & Energy Balance, Bioreactor Engineering, Biochemical and Science & Engineering Materials, my passion for research and consultation is dedicated to Biotechnology Engineering. My research interests are in microbiology fermentation for biofuel production, value added product from solid waste such as enzyme, renewable energy and wastewater treatment. During my master and PhD study, I dedicated my time to design, built and evaluate the performance of the Oscillatory Baffled Reactor (OBR) for biobutanol fermentation. One unit of the OBR is currently developed in the FKKSA lab for aerobic fermentation purposes.
