We are interested in learning more about how two programs offered may help teenagers with depression.
This study is for...
12-18 year olds
with symptoms of depression
16 weeks of study treatment at a community mental health clinic, receiving either:
usual therapy- Therapists will implement hte therapy procedures that they usually use in their clinical practice
Interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT-A)- This is an evidence-based therapy that reduces symptoms of depression and improves functioning by helping teens learn and practice communication skills and interpersonal problem-solving skills.
And, 6 research visits (both teen and parent) at the University of Minnesota.
