You can join different kinds of 4-H programs to participate in 4-H - you are not limited to just one! You have choices in how you want to participate and the projects you will explore. Programs are the clubs, camps, enrichment programs and events where you gain your 4-H experience.
There are different types of 4-H Clubs in California. A 4-H club is a place for you to connect with your peers and adult mentors on a regular basis through the year for hands-on experiences.
Summer isn't summer without 4-H camp! 4-H Camps make the best memories! 4-H day camps fill your days with projects and activities. At sleep away camps, you spend time in a different environment from home. Most 4-H camps include LOTS of outdoor activities, from campfire cooking to hiking to environmental science.
Enrichment programs connect youth with 4-H hands-on learning experiences, both in school and outside of school time. You might participate in a Cooking Academy, a 4-H STEM Challenge, or other 4-H projects. Teachers, afterschool leaders and community partners can partner with 4-H. Connect with your county 4-H office to learn more.
Expand your experiences outside of your local area! Participate in state and regional conferences, where you can meet youth from all over California. You also have opportunities to go to national conferences held in Washington D.C., where you can connect with 4-H'ers from other states and Canada as you learn and experience new things together. See what we have available on our Events page.
