4-H Safety projects cover topics such as first aid, emergency preparedness and belonging. It is important for everyone to feel mentally, emotionally and physically safe while being active in 4-H.
The availability of projects varies by club and county. Please check with your club and county to see what is available and to let them know your interest in a project. If it's not already offered, there may be an adult volunteer willing to start a new project!
Project Sheets are a guide for Project Leaders to develop lessons with meaningful content. Families and youth may reference these as a guide for what can be covered in the project. Please click the links to see the Project Sheet — please note that we do not have Project Sheets for all projects yet.

At State Field Day, UC ANR Risk & Safety personnel teach
youth how to use a fire extinguisher and distribute starter kits for emergency preparedness.
At our larger state events, such as State Leadership Conference, we make a quiet place available for people who need to take a break. This helps youth with sensory issues as well as introverts who need a physical break from the large group. The room contains tents for additional privacy, as well as beanbags for individual seating.
