The 4-H Youth Development Program is delivered nationwide by over 100 land grant universities in every state and territory through the Cooperative Extension system. The University of California is the land grant university of California. The University of California Cooperative Extension, UCCE is administered by the University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources, UC ANR.
All California 4-H clubs, camps and counties should be including the California 4-H logo on 4-H branded materials. Connecting to the statewide program lets people know that your local programs are part of a dynamic statewide 4-H program!
Innovation and Research connection: As a unit of the University of California, the 4-H program leads research in youth development, which gives us opportunities to pilot new initiatives, such as the 4-H Thriving Model, Teens as Teachers and STEM initiatives.
Everyone is welcome: California 4-H is one of the largest and most diverse 4-H programs in the country. We have 4-H programming in every county in California, in both urban and rural areas.
Strong Youth Leadership & Civic Engagement: California 4-H is known nationally for its strong youth voice structures such as State and County Ambassadors, youth on Advisory Councils and integrating youth leadership into community action.
A range of STEAM opportunities: Youth have opportunities to compete in local, state and national competitions. Statewide, we offer a wide range of topics, from animal science and agriculture production to drones and robotics.
The official name of the program is University of California 4-H Youth Development Program. You can shorten this to "California 4-H" if you include the full name when referring to the program in writing.
