Dear Students and Families,
We'll be focusing on our first reading unit that is themed "Observing Nature" in reading class. Students will be reading a variety of texts and genres related to this theme and analyzing for central idea and text features. In writing, our study of essay analysis continues, and we'll shift our attention to proper planning for expository essays. For social studies class, students will be investigating Florida's climate and preparing an in-class news broadcast using the Florida maps that they created in the first weeks of school during our study of Florida's geography. Students will be taking the FAST Math test on Monday, August 24th. There will be no word application this week due to state testing.
