Welcome to the band!  This year we will join forces to ignite learning and spark some magic in math and science.  On our stage, we welcome all thinkers and strive to make sense of problems and persevere in problem solving.  Any challenges will be faced with confidence and collaboration.  Together we will be dynamite! Be prepared to bring your tenacity and creativity to this rockin' ride!

Click the link to watch a tutorial on  Multi-Digit Multiplication Strategies that will be used in class.   This is a great way to understand how to help your child extend what they know about basic multiplicaiton and begin to understand how strategies work.  Students should be using strategies that make sense to them and should not be guided to the standard algorithm too soon.  This video is so helpful in supporting you as parents with encouraging your child to make sense and use strategies different from how you learned in your elementary days.  Go with what they know!  

Homework: 

Math: Homework is given every Monday for the week and is due by Friday morning. 

Science: Review Study Guide nightly.
