Important Reinders-

• I hope to see you on Wednesday, October 14th for our second annual Family Night from 6:00-7:00. Bring the family to enjoy some fun Reading, Math, and Science activities for the whole family. Informational PI hours will be given. 

• Friday, October 16th is our 50th Day of School Celebration. We have officially rocked through 50 days of school.  To celebrate, students may join us on Friday as we tracel back and dress for the 1950's. Athletic shoes required. IF NOT PARTICIPATING, wear uniform.  

• Thank you for donating to our Buffalo Basket, Gardening. Our basket is valued at $550. The Basket Auction will take place at the High School Dining Hall on Saturday, October 24th from 5:30-9:30.  

• Parent teacher conferences have begun. Mr. Mutz and I will be reaching out to you to schedule a conference with a second sign up schedule. 

• As a reminder, please check your students yellow folder routinely. Graded work is sent home in the "keep at home" side of the folder and study guides and reference pages for current skills are stored in the page protectors.  

Welcome to the band!  This year we will join forces to ignite learning and spark some magic in math and science.  On our stage, we welcome all thinkers and strive to make sense of problems and persevere in problem solving.  Any challenges will be faced with confidence and collaboration.  Together we will be dynamite! Be prepared to bring your tenacity and creativity to this rockin' ride!

Click the link to watch a tutorial on  Multi-Digit Multiplication Strategies that will be used in class.   This is a great way to understand how to help your child extend what they know about basic multiplicaiton and begin to understand how strategies work.  Students should be using strategies that make sense to them and should not be guided to the standard algorithm too soon.  This video is so helpful in supporting you as parents with encouraging your child to make sense and use strategies different from how you learned in your elementary days.  Go with what they know!

Math: Homework is given every Monday for the week and is due by Friday morning.
