Weekly Reading Log Homework:
ELA homework is due every Friday. An extra copy of the homework can be found here: Homework Reading Log
Students should be reading every night and have their reading log signed by a parent/guardian each night. Daily reading helps students build reading stamina and prepares them for the FAST Reading assessment at the end of the year. Students will complete one paragraph using the RACE writing method at the bottom of their homework every week. RACE helps students write complete, text-based answers required by Florida standards. Here is a video link to help learn more about the RACE method: RACE Method Video
Word Application Quiz- Tuesday, September 22nd
Every two weeks, students will have a Word Application Quiz covering vocabulary skills such as Greek/Latin roots, prefixes, suffixes, multiple-meaning words, figurative language, and shades of meaning. Here is a copy for the upcoming quiz: Word App List 3
Unit 2 Social Studies Vocabulary Test — Friday, September 18th
In Unit 2, students are learning about the Native American tribes of Florida. As part of Unit 2, students are expected to know and understand the vocabulary words on this list. We created vocabulary flashcards as a class and those can be found in their binders. Please use the flashcards or the attached vocabulary list to help your child study: Unit 2 Vocabulary
