A little about me:
I live in Middleton with my 2 beautiful golden retrievers (Nima and Kashi)
This is my 6th official year of teaching, 3 years in Cary, NC and 2 years in Sumter County Public Schools ( I taught two additional years in Upstate NY as a long term sub for medical leaves)
Have always taught either 4th or 5th grades
Bachelor's Degree in English from NCSU (Go Wolfpack!) and Master's in Literacy from SUNY Albany
I love cooking, reading, being outside exploring our beautiful world and learning new things (currently learning watercolor painting and accepting all tips and tricks!)
I'm super excited to get to know you all this year! I know it will be a year of growth, challenges and opportunity for all of us.

Animal Adaptation Project was assigned on Friday, October 2, 2026.
Important dates:
10/9 - Project assigned
10/13 - Students should come to class with multiple animals they are interested in researching. Animals will be approved on this date.
10/21 - First look for research form is due and submitted for a grade
11/6 - Project AND research form due and submitted for a TEST grade.

Final date to let your child’s homeroom teacher know if you would like to chaperone. Only those parents who have completed volunteer applications submitted online will be considered for the drawing.

First Installment due ~ $90 (both students and chaperones).
If you choose to pay in full, the cost is $190.00 per person.
