At TSTC, our performance assessment process has two main goals:
To ensure managers clearly communicate expectations and provide guidance so employees fully understand their role and responsibilities.
To give teammates the opportunity to address any challenges and grow in their role within an agreed-upon timeframe.
Our reviews aren’t just about assessing performance—they’re about making sure everyone has the tools and support they need to succeed. Every TSTC teammate will receive an annual performance assessment through Workday, standardized across the college to reflect each level—whether leadership, faculty, or staff.
All teammates who have completed at least 90 days of service are eligible for inclusion in the annual or mid-cycle review. To be eligible for merit, teammates must have been in their role for at least 1 year. These reviews focus on core competencies such as performance, conduct, ownership, and teamwork. For faculty, specific elements tailored to their roles are included to ensure the process aligns with their unique responsibilities.
Is the employee required to complete a self-assessment?
No, while completing the self-assessment is a valuable step in the performance assessment process, the employee is not required to complete the self-assessment.
What is the overall timeline for the process?
Our performance assessment launches September 2nd and will end September 30th.
Is there a quota for each rating?
There are no quotas for how many teammates should fall into each performance category.
Are assessments only for teammates who have been here 1 year?
Teammates who have completed at least 90 days of service will be included in the annual performance assessment. Teammates must have completed at least 1 year in their role to be considered eligible for merit.
Are performance assessments associated with merit increases?
Performance assessments may influence merit increases, along with other factors such as company outcomes, functional contributions, and personal achievements. Merit decisions are separate from the performance evaluation process, encompassing broader considerations within departments.
What time periods of performance does the 2025 performance assessment cover?
This performance assessment cycle includes performance for FY25 fiscal year 09/01/24 through 08/31/25.
I was part of the mid-cycle performance assessment process this spring. Will I be included in the annual performance assessment?
Yes. All TSTC teammates who have been employed for at least 90 days will be included in the assessment.
When do I meet with my teammate ?
