Mr. Brown was a four year starter on the basketball team and scored over 1,025 points for his career. He was a first team All MVL selection twice in football and also in basketball. His senior season in basketball he helped the Tomcats to the District Semi-Finals, by averaging 23 points per game. At the time of his graduation, he held the MVL single game scoring record with 40 points. At the conclusion of his senior season, he was selected to play in the Class A versus Class B Ohio All-Star Game.

After graduating from Glouster, Mr. Brown went to Ohio University where he was on the Freshman Basketball team. At the conclusion of his freshman year, he joined the Army and served in the Korean Conflict. After the armistice, Mr. Brown returned to Ohio University and completed his degree.
