Athens County League - formed in the early 1920s initially to hold a county track meet, the Athens County League was for the small schools in basketball and baseball and for a time, to qualify for the OHSAA post season, a team would have to be a County Champion. Schools that originally participated in the County League were: Albany, Ames-Bern, Buchtel-York, Carthage-Troy, Chauncey-Dover, Jacksonville-Trimble, Rome-Canaan, Shade, The Plains, Waterloo. Glouster, as an exempted village school district, for many years did not compete in regular season Athens County League, but would be included in the season ending County tournament to possibly qualify for the OHSAA tournament, making these tournaments the equivalent to a sectional.
Big Five Conference - started in 1931 consisting of Glouster, Malta & McConnelsville (M&M), Crooksville, New Concord, and New Lexington
Big Six Conference - when Caldwell joined in 1934 the Big Five became the Big Six
Muskingum Valley League (MVL) - when Philo and Roseville joined the Big Six in 1938 the league renamed itself the MVL. The MVL did not operate during the 1943-1944 school year because of gas rationing due to WWII.
Little Five Conference - formed in 1935 with Jacksonville-Trimble, Chauncey-Dover, Murray City, Buchtel, and The Plains
Little Seven Conference - McArthur and Rutland join the Little Five in 1939
Hocking Valley League (HVL) - in 1940 the Little Seven renames itself the Hocking Valley League, which would dissolve during WWII
Southeastern Ohio Buckeye League (SEOBL) - formed in 1946 charter members were McArthur, Oak Hill, Rutland, The Planes, Chauncey, and Coalton. Jacksonville-Trimble would join in 1948. Oak Hill and Coalton would leave the conference by 1950, and Belpre would join during that same time.
Mid-Ohio Valley Conference (MOVC) - Glouster (consolidated) joined in 1968 with Alexander, Eastern (Meigs), Southern (Meigs), later Miller would join the MOVC
Southeastern Ohio Girls Athletic League (SEOGAL) - Trimble was a charter member of the SEOGAL which was formed in 1973 after the passing of Title IX reintroduced girls high school sports. The league was Alexander, Federal Hocking, Miller, Nelsonville-York, Trimble and Vinton County. The League ceased operation in 1978 when it was announced that TVC would adopt girls sports into the conference.
Tri-Valley Conference (TVC) - In 1978 Trimble would join the TVC with Alexander, Belpre, Federal Hocking, Nelsonville-York, Vinton County and Warren, there have been many changes in the TVC, the most notable being the league splitting into the Ohio and Hocking in 1993. Trimble has competed in the TVC-Hocking since 1993.
