Mr. Gyure was an outstanding running back at a time when it was not common to keep rushing yardage statistics. It is believed that during his senior year he rushed for an average of 162 yards per game which would bring his season total to 1,620 yards. Mr. Gyure scored three touchdowns against arch rival Chauncey-Dover in 1956 giving the Tomcats their first win over the Blue Devils in two decades.
