Hopedale High School class of 1968
West Liberty State College class of 1972
Coach Culver inherited a football program in 1973 that was 5-23 for the first three seasons of the 1970s including a 0-10 season the previous year. Over the next six seasons Trimble would go 37-18-4 and enter the Tri-Valley Conference winning the championship in their first season (1978). For many, this turn around represented the establishment of modern Trimble football mentality and tradition.
Coach Culver left Trimble for a brief stint at Buckeye North High School before being hired at Sheridan High School. He retired from coaching in 2015 with a career record of 323 wins, 132 losses and 5 ties. That year he was inducted into the Ohio Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame and the football stadium at Sheridan was named Paul Culver Jr. Stadium in his honor.
