The entire time Mr. Hunter was in high school, Trimble played as an independent, therefore he had no opportunities to be recognized as all conference. As a sophomore he was a starter on the 1974 football team that featured the "Best Defense in Southeastern Ohio".  In baseball he was a dominant pitcher who had a perfect 7-0 record his senior year. That season he also batted .567.

Mr. Hunter was awarded the "Exemplary Contribution and Service to Athletics" award by the Ohio High School Athletic Association in 1999.
