Aaron Brown 2006 - 2010

BEAP played a huge role in helping me become the person I am today because prior to BEAP, I had next to no idea what I wanted to do after high school. By opening my mind to different possibilities, it gave me a reason to work hard and strive towards a goal. Through sport and the BEAP program, I ultimately developed a work ethic both in sport and academically that would allow me to get a scholarship in the NCAA which ultimately led to my professional contract with NIKE in track and field.

I am a 2x Olympic sprinter; professional athlete representing NIKE; Olympic and World championship medalist; multi-time NCAA All-American; Canadian record holder in the 4x100m; 4x Canadian champion; NCAA academic all-American; Commonwealth Silver Medalist; NACAC champion etc.

My future goals are to become an Olympic medalist in an individual event and to break Canadian records in the sprints. I also want to be a published author and start a course to help young athletes’ transition from high school to college and from college to the professional level.

A lot of my friends came from BEAP and it allowed me to connect with other likeminded athletes who were on a similar path. This kept me focused in an environment where it is very easy to get distracted. It instilled discipline and responsibility in me that was critical for survival at the next level in the NCAA. BEAP taught me lessons that were invaluable and that I still use and teach others about till this day.
