post secondary information for international students
If you are currently studying in Canada with a valid study permit, you are still considered an international student.
Proof of English proficiency is required for students who have been in the country for 4 years or less. You are not required to provide an English language test score if your first language is English AND your four most recent years of full-time education were taught in an entirely English-language school system either in Canada or in another country.
Worrying about your English language test scores while you are academically competitive for undergraduate programs?
Many universities offer Pre-University English Language Transition Programs to high school students who are academically qualified to study at the University, but do not meet the University’s English language requirements. You might be a candidate for this program. Please always consult the University’s admission office if you are such a candidate. Here are some popular programs for your interest: University of Toronto York University Queen’s University “QBridge” University of Waterloo “BASE” McMaster University “MELD” University of Western Ontario “Boost”
