DAY E-LEARNING
Day elearning courses are only available to Gr.11 and Gr. 12 students with a SPARE in their timetable. Day e-Learning courses will be delivered asynchronously. You are allowed to take one Day elearning course per semester. (Maximum two in the year). A Day elearning course will occupy one to two spaces in your timetable.
Gr.11 students must carry a minimum of 7 day school courses (Allowed 1 Day elearning course)
Gr. 12 students must carry a minimum of 6 day school courses (Allowed 2 Day eLearning courses)

What is SHSM?
The SHSM program offers students in gr. 11 and 12 the opportunity to explore a specific area or career of interest, and to acquire the skills and experience that will assist them in their postsecondary pathway: Apprenticeship Training, College, University and the Workplace.

SHSM Postsecondary Opportunities: SHSM students identify themselves through a checkbox on OCAS and OUAC when they are applying to College or University. There are scholarship and incentive opportunities for SHSM graduates at some of the following postsecondary institutions:

STEAM
STEAM is a program for students who want to pursue excellence in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. Our STEAM curriculum provides students with real-life problems to solve that requires skills and resources with a focus across STEAM disciplines. Our program fosters skills in collaboration, critical thinking, technology, creativity, and communication in order to meet future expectations of a 21st Century career. STEAM students move through grades 9-11 as a cohort taking courses concentrated in Science, Technology, Mathematics, and Computer Science. Our STEAM students have many enrichment opportunities presented throughout high school, including specialty trips, projects, University contests, and STEAM contests. STEAM COURSE OFFERINGS
Student accepted into the S.T.E.A.M. program must take the following courses:
GRADE 10: MPM2D, SNC2D, ICS3U, END2D
GRADE 11: Mandatory: MCR3U, ENG3U, SCH3U, choice of one ICS4U, TER3M1 or TGJ3M1.
GRADE 12: At least one credit must be completed in the areas of Math, Science, Technology and/or English in the student’s Grade 12 year.
Students must achieve at least 70% in each STEAM core course

REMOTE LEARNING (Many Night and Summer School courses) does not count!
*Asynchronous courses = courses where there is no real time teacher and all work is completed independently.
