The words above were muttered by my mother, a veteran photographer of decades, as she captured this image of a male cardinal.
As we trekked through East End Park, it became increasingly apparent that photographing birds ain't no cakewalk. It took a couple of hours to capture just a dozen or so pictures of a few different birds.
However, I believe that the hours spent searching for birds was well beyond rewarding and look forward to continuing a pursuit of an understanding of my local wildlife.
The glossary really became complete thanks to the help of a couple of awesome Kingwood bird watchers in my neighborhood of Foster's Mill!
East End Park is by far one of the best ways to survey bird life in Kingwood. As an extension of the Lake Houston Wilderness Park, it proved to be a fun and reliable place of bird watching.
