The Black Chinned Hummingbird is a pleasant surprise to the typical bird lineup of Kingwood. In the winters, it can travel to the gulf coast region which includes the Kingwood area.
Of the many hummingbird types, the Black Chinned is one of the most adaptable, being found in urban areas as well as natural settings.
These tiny birds are surprisingly migratory, moving from the Midwestern United States to Southern texas and Mexico.
