The Barred Owl is one of the more unique birds that resides in the Kingwood area. For one, it is much larger than the average Kingwood songbird, and with that, it feeds on larger prey. Mice and other small mammals are its primary food source.
Barred Owls don't migrate and generally stay in the same area unless it is threatened by a predator such as the Great Horned Owl.
Owls won't be incentivized to wonder into a backyard through birdfeed, but they may be attracted by a nest box- their favored form of habitat.
