The infamous turkey vulture is not the most popular bird when it comes to bird watching and enjoyment. However, their presence is extremely important to the Kingwood ecosystem and the decomposition of life.
They have an extremely different feeding habit of eating the corpses of recently deceased, usually, mammals. Their keen sense of smell is used to identify the whereabout of freshly killed food.
If a Kingwood inhabitant looks up into the sky, there is a good chance that a turkey vulture can be seen because roadkill and other animals who kick the bucket die in droves.
