Types of Questions on a Questionnaire
There are 2 main types of question that you will be using.
Open Questions
The answer that you receive from an open question is normally in the person’s own words.
You would ask the question and give a few lines for the person to write on.
Open questions have the following characteristics :-
They ask the respondent to think and reflect.
They will give you opinions and feelings.
They hand control of the conversation to the person being questioned.
Example :- What kind of film do you enjoy watching?

Closed Questions
These type of questions normally give a selection of options to choose from.
Closed questions have the following characteristics :-
They give you facts.
They are easy to answer.
They are quick to answer.
They give you control of the conversation.
Example :- What is your favourite colour?
[ ] red
[ ] blue
[ ] yellow
