For the Self Portrait drawing, the main idea was to draw an image of ourselves using a mirror. I used a 2B, 2H, and 6B graphite pencil to create my portrait, along with one of those shading tools. It took me quite a bit of time to figure out the proportions of this, but eventually, I got everything to sit relatively well and look like an actual face. The lips went through the most workshopping when it came to both size and shape. I didn't use color on this piece because shading with colored pencil is a pain, same with a marker. I also was not planning on spending a ton of time on the portrait so I kept my materials as simple as possible.
For the Still Life drawing, the main idea was to find an object and draw a still life of it. I used not only a 2B graphite pencil but also a 2H and 6B one as well. I originally was not going to draw something as basic as a pencil, but the lego figure I was attempting did not sit right, so I switched to drawing the pencil instead. I did not use color on this one because it was meant to be a quick sketch and not something I would spend a lot of time fussing about what colors to use.
The main idea behind the Room piece was to draw a corner of my room as a perspective drawing. I may or may not have gotten a little too focused on the. window. This piece was made by using only the corner I was using as a reference and a 2B graphite pencil and a ruler. I defiantly did a lot of experimenting when it came to which directing I had to slant certain lines to make the sketch actually look like a corner. I only used graphite on this because I knew I would not be spending a ton of time on this, so shading and color were not what I was aiming for.
