The main idea behind this piece was to create a painting using 84 flat colors. This was made using acrylic paint on canvas. It took a while to settle on the subject for this piece, I knew I wanted to paint an animal but which one was the problem I ran into. Eventually, I found the frogs would be the easiest to use flat colors on. After that, I knew I would focus mostly on the three primary colors and the colors that come from them, so I made a frog for each primary color so that it could be organized and each color would have a place. I found near the end that I had made too many little spots for the colors, ending up with me using around 90 colors.
