For this project, the three prompts were to practice one and two-point perspective, practice shading spheres with different mediums and draw a still life of arranged candy. For all of these pieces, I was trying to figure out how to make these simple shapes look realistic and as if you could pick them up off the paper. Only graphite was used to create the one and two-point perspective cubes, but for the spheres colored pencils, Crayola markers, and watercolor were all used. As for the Candy Still Life, all I used were colored pencils and a white gel pen that hardy worked. All of them were made on drawing paper asides from the Cady Still Life which was on printmaking paper. All of these smaller pieces represent the process that led up to the creation of the Candy Still Life. In preparation for drawing the different types of candy, we went through the techniques used to make simple shapes 3D. This one was done in color because it had to be in order to accurately depict the candy that was being drawn. I chose to only use colored pencils because when creating a sphere with watercolor I found it hard to keep the paint within the lines. The reason the candy is displayed the way that is was that I wanted to be able to draw a variety of things with different characteristics. That lead to me opening up the packages and arranging the contents inside. I also wanted the pop of color from the M&M's.
