Graphite on pastel paper
The main idea of this drawing was to draw a realistic self-portrait. I feel that I was successful in this. I made sure to show a full scale from very light to very dark. The eyes and glasses were the hardest part becuase of how much detail is necessary when drawing them.
I used a full range of graphite pencils from HB to 6B. I drew on pastel paper and used negative space.
I started in the top right corner, shading the shadows that I saw in my original picture. I went right to left because I am left-handed and didn't want to smudge the graphite. I used negative space to draw the highlights and show a full range of colors.
