Acylic on Canvas

The main idea for this project was to create a collage and copy it with acrylic paint on canvas paper. I wanted to make my collage pretty simple so it would be easier for me to recreate.

The materials I used were cut paper and canvas paper with acrylic paint.

The process I used to create this collage and painting was to create the collage first. I wanted to make the collage simple so it would be easy to recreate. I also wanted to include colors that went well together so it would be more fun for me to create. I made the painting by putting my collage onto a bright light with canvas paper over it so I could copy the basic shapes down. This made it a lot easier for me to paint. Next, I started to mix the colors for the painting, starting with the shapes in the back. The purple and blue squares are what I painted first. Then I started the checkered pattern on the side. I originally was going to be pink and white but I added teal into it so the color would pop more. My favorite part of this painting is the butterfly because I got to be more careful with detail and I thought that was fun. Overall I really enjoyed this project and next time I would probably add more to my collage, so I have more things to paint.
