Graphite Self Portrait 

The main idea for these pieces of artwork is to create realism and value.  The idea for my graphite value strip was to create a strip of value using graphite, going from dark value to light value.  For my self portrait the main idea is to recreate an image but as a drawing by using a grid and using graphite and the full range of value. 

For my artwork, I used materials such as graphite pencils and drawing paper

The process for these drawings were very simple. For my graphite value strips I went from dark to light using graphite to create a line of value . For my self portrait I drew a grid and I took an image of myself and went square by square drawing what I saw on the image right on to the paper to create my self portrait.
