Artist Statement

The main idea that guided my artwork was the prompt I was given beforehand. The prompt I was given was "A hot dog with mustard, ketchup, a bowling ball, and stinky socks."

For this artwork, I used 12" by 9" paper with Watercolors and Sharpie. I found it really difficult when I was trying to color the hot dog because I found the paper started to tear and was getting really frustrated.

The process I went through between my idea and finished piece was at first, I started sketching a bowling alley scene but it was getting difficult with perspectives and I was starting to not enjoy it. Then, I was given the idea to make it more abstract so I toyed around with a few ideas when my stepdad said it kind of looked like an elephant which gave me a great idea to just run with it and it turned out pretty cute.
