Artist Statement

The main idea that guided my artwork was the idea of one and two point perspective. One point perspective is when there is one point for the vanishing point whereas with two point, there are two. I started off by drawing ten one point perspective boxes, five on top five on bottom, and then did the same with the two point. I did this so I could practice with perspective so that later on I was more successful. In order to get to the final project, I had to create a room using only horizontal, diagonal, and vertical lines while also using perspective. For the final project, I went into a hallway, took a photo, and had to draw that hallway while using perspective.

For this project I used 11" by 14" paper with a half inch border. I also used Graphite, and Colored Pencil.

The process I went through while drawing my Hallways Linear Perspective, I went into a hallway, took a photo, and had to draw that hallway while using perspective. I started with my vanishing pint by estimating while looking at the photo. I then drew the square that would turn into my back wall and doors. I continued by drawing all of the vertical and diagonal lines that would create doorways and openings. I moved onto the tile in the floors and ceilings and ended with things like benches and small details like my bulletin boards and Christmas lights.
