Summative Observational Wire Sculpture

The main idea guided through this artwork is to make wire sculptures, by bending the wire into fish loops and bending the fish loops together. I made my slide. What inspired me to do that was people who made other shoes, and those turned out pretty good. So I decided to make one, and I made the slide because that was what I wore to school that day.

The materials I used for this project were a variety of different types of wire that included 18 gauge annealed wire and 14 gauge aluminum wire, and a pair of wire cutters and needle nose pliers.

The process I went through when making this artwork was we started practicing are skills by making a tower out of 10 linked wires, and making sure that we compress and tighten the fish hooks we made on the wires, so it would stay stable. Then using the skills we learned from that, we made a box, making sure the boxes fish hooks were tight enough together so the box would stay sturdy and stand up straight. Then I made my final project which was the shoe. Using the skills I learend I used many wired links, and fish hooks to make sure the shoe was sturdy. I started of by making the outline of the shoe, then when I did that I added details like the top of the slide, and the texture and rigid structure on the bottom of the slide. Overall I think it came out good, and it is sturdy and strong.
