Assemblage Sculpture  

The main idea guided through this artwork was to make sculptures out of materials that can include newspaper, cardboard, etc, and then to put a later of a paper material over it to finish it, and give it detail and appealing looks. I did a fish. What inspired me to make this was summer coming up, and an activity I do in summer a lot is going boating and fishing. The product of the fish, I came up with in my head, and I used the newspaper, armature technique for my fish. 

The materials I used for this project were newspaper, for the stuffing of the fish and masking tape to hold it together. Magazine paper to put over the newspaper,  a gluey water solution to stick the magazine paper on, and cardboard to add textures to fish like the gills, and the eyes, and fins. 

I started off by making an idea generation for the project, I had a variety of different ideas and they all included using the newspaper, armature technique, and that was because it looked the most appealing and fun to make, by seeing other projects that used it. I decided to do the fish idea, this was because summer was coming up and I fish in the summer. When starting my project I made a stuffing of the fish by using masking tape and newspaper, and then I put magazine paper on it, using the specific color blue because that's the color of when I thought of a fish, and then I found blue cardboard to match the magazine color add the other details like the gills and the fin and the eyes, and then I did some finishing touches like adding more news paper to areas that were lacking on it, and then I was done. I think it turned out pretty good.
