The main idea guided through this art project was to draw ducks that could be of are choice, on a sheet of paper that has to be 9"by12".  In the art work we make sure to add the major details, like the shape of the beck, specific colors of the feather, amount of feather, ect. We also make sure to research and add details about the specific duck that we did, habitat that they live in. We have to use 2 or more reference images for the duck, so I found two that inspired me.

The materials I used for this project was a 9" by 12" sheet of paper, graphite pencil for the sketch, chalk for the background, colored pencil for the duck, and colored pens for extra details.  I chose these materials because I saw others that used some of the materials that I used like colored pencil and it came out good.

When making the art I first researched about the duck.I researched the habitat that it lived in, its diet, if its feathers change or not, and difference from a female koloa to a male koloa. Once I got my researched I did some practice sketches of a duck drawing, and then I started my final drawing. I chose a reference of a koloa standing on a rock because it really made the details of the feet stick out, and it helps show the differences from a male to female koloa, because thats the gender I chose to do. I desired to structure the duck towards the left side so I could show change in depth of the pond, and I could add the vegetation in the pond. Then I made the duck, I chose different shades of a color to help shade the color of the duck, and when I was finished drawing the duck I noticed that the shape of it was off so I fixed that by making the duck bigger and better shaped, When I finshed the drawing of the duck I made my final touches gel pens. With making the background there looked to be different water colors on my reference image so I did different shades of the same color., and I also added some rippling waves to the water. I think the duck overall turned out pretty good.
