Sharpie Lined Carved Lino Block

The main idea guided through this artwork was to make ink prints, using a lino block that we carved. The lino block I made was a island with a palm tree. I chose that because summer is coming up and that's what I thought of when thinking of summer, and I decided to add other details to it like the sun, and a cloud, and details.

The materials I used for this project was blue and black ink, colored pencils, and a lino block, and sharp tools to carve the block.

When making this artwork we started off making a mini block to practice are skills, we made the sides of of solid-black and non solid- white. So we did opposites of which. I used a variety of sharp tools to carve the lino block. and I added texture to it, like the sand and the tree, and then I made my proof sheet. My goal was to get a print that was decent so I could make my final ones, so it took some prints on the proof sheet to do that. When making the final prints I chose the 2 colors of  black and blue to do the final prints, blue because it goes with the ocean, and island vibe. When making the extended one I did the print with blue ink, and I added to the ocean, and added more detail to the print. Overall the prints came out pretty good.
